Biography
An artist with a multi-faceted career, Enrico Onofri rose to prominence as a conductor at the most prestigious theatres after having gained international fame there as a violinist. Enrico Onofri grew up at his parents’ antiques atelier in Ravenna, surrounded by the beauty of the past and, from the outset of his music studies, developed a deep passion for historically informed performances, exploring the repertoire from the 17th to the 20th century, creating a personal style through his knowledge of early performance techniques, seen as an exceptional source of inspiration for new ideas and interpretative horizons.
Former principal conductor of the Filarmonica Toscanini from 2020 to 2024, he is currently associate conductor of the Münchener Kammerorchester, artistic partner of the Haydn Philharmonie, associate conductor of the Orchestre National d'Auvergne, besides being founder and conductor of the Imaginarium Ensemble and music director of the Real Câmara, Lisbon.
